Dottore in Urbanistica allo IUAV di Venezia con una ricerca su Prato e le relazioni tra lo spazio e la comunità produttiva cinese e italiana, Michele Cerruti But è coordinatore dell'Accademia UNIDEE, l'Istituto di Alta Formazione della Fondazione Pistoletto.
Docente a contratto presso il Politecnico di Torino, adotta sullo spazio uno sguardo complesso che unisca Territorio, Economia e Società e mette al centro della sua indagine l'Immaginario, il Progetto come dispositivo collettivo, la relazione tra Produzione contemporanea e Abitare.
